Quercetin is a bioflavonoid found in a variety of fruits, vegetables, and grains. Quercetin has a long tradition of use for promoting a healthy immune response in the face of seasonal immune challenges by stabilizing mast cells that release histamine, the principal mediator of reactions to pollen and other allergies. In addition, it promotes a healthy inflammatory response, inhibits oxidative stress and helps maintain overall health. Our Quercetin contains a form of quercetin that has been integrated into our Cyclosome® Delivery. A Cyclosome® is a combination of cyclodextrin molecules and tiny spheres of plant-derived phospholipids. By combining quercetin with this cyclodextrin/phospholipid based delivery system, the quercetin in its formula is made bioavailable, making it easier to absorb and more readily used by the body.

In a randomized clinical study, researchers compared orally administered quercetin liposomes doses along with one dosage of traditional quercetin. They found that the quercetin liposome could be administered at one-fifth the dosage of the traditional quercetin and still result in exposure 10 times greater. This means that the quercetin liposome provides about 50 times greater bioavailability than traditional quercetin. Our addition of a cyclodextrin will make the compound more soluble and even more effective.
